| Oil on canvas, 115 x 77cm (sold) |
Contortionist - Kim Upton Kim's story is so compelling because of her determination to keep performing after an 8m fall where she was badly injured. Not unlike Kim, I didn't want the painting to dwell on the accident, but felt it important to reference - so depicting her suspended or levitating, just above ground. Go to Kimtortion's website. The portrait was selected as a finalist in the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, 2011. |
